WAYNE OWIDE

Wayne has been involved in triathlon for more years than anyone can remember! He was the primary force behind the founding of Jetstream Tri Club and also in 2000 was part of the organising group which put together the very first Hatch End -Harrow Triathlon. Wayne is the Head Coach for Jetstream but also runs his owns business as a private triathlon coach. He is also a Swim Coach for Harrow Swimming Club. Wayne competes in triathlons when he has time in between training and preparing others for their races.

DAVID BROWN

David’s involvement in triathlon began in 2005 when he competed in the Ironbridge Olympic Distance Triathlon. His enthusiasm for triathlon was stimulated by a need to train outside of the gym, having spent too many hours working and training under the same roof, and the desire to improve his swimming. Soon after this race he decided that triathlon coaching was a natural extension to personal training and undertook his L1 course. The progression to L2 and 3 soon followed. He has raced mainly Olympic distance with a few sprints thrown in and plans to progress to middle distance racing in the near future. Outside of racing David loves trail running and mountain biking. Two young daughters also keeps him in check with where his priorities lie!

MICHELLE ASHWELL

Michelle was a triathlon widow for 17 years before deciding to finally have a go herself!  She had always presumed that triathlon was only for the naturally talented, uber- fit and svelte folk but in 2008 with a “if you can’t beat ‘em, join ‘em” attitude, she decided she fancied having a go!  When she joined Jetstream she couldn’t swim 2 lengths front crawl, hadn’t ridden a bike since school and couldn’t run for a bus!  But Oct 08 saw her complete a supersprint distance and 2009 was her first full season which ended with a half-Ironman.  In 2010 Michelle successfully completed Ironman Germany and then Ironman Austria in 2011.  Michelle is keen to encourage women in to the sport as well as people who, like her, didn’t enjoy sport at school, aren’t blessed with an innate athletic ability and are there simply to complete not compete, have fun, keep fit and push their personal boundaries.

NEIL PROCTER

Neil started triathlon in 1993 after many years of running track, cross-country, marathon and long distance multi day events. He competes in sprints, Olympic, half ironman and Ironman (Switzerland 09) distance triathlons. He has enjoyed numerous age group wins over the years. In 2007, Neil completed the Etape du Tour and has also completed the Four Peaks Challenge twice. This involved running to each of the highest Peaks in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland and back down, all in 36 hours including driving between them!  Neil competes in Masters Swimming competitions for Barnet Copthall Masters and is also the Race Organiser for the Hatch End Harrow Triathlon.
